This is a beautifully expressive Limited Edition drypoint etching of a little mermaid.

This lovely piece of illustrative art is a unique creation : it is a hand-produced drypoint etching on a copper plate consisting of only 7 hand-pulled prints. Itis hand coloured.
This one is number 3 - from Edition of only 7.

The print measures 11.5cm x 7.75 inches (29.5cm x 19.5cm)
The paper measures 17 x 12 inches (43cm x 35cm) and is cold pressed 250gsm Stonehenge Ivory paper.

-All my etchings come signed, titled and numbered in pencil on the front, and have details of editioning and states on the back. 
The print is sent packaged in a protective plastic sleeve and carefully rolled in a hard case tube.
I have found this to be the most secure way of shipping larger prints to protect from damage.

ABOUT DRYPOINT ETCHING
 
An etching is an original work of art created from a metal plate or similar matrix into which an image has been carved by various methods.
Drypoint etching is one of the oldest printmaking methods. Through the various centuries, the process has remained the same: an image is incised into the matrix with a hard-pointed needle. 
Traditionally the plate was copper, but presently printmakers use zinc, plexiglass or acetate. I mostly use acetate. Dampened paper is laid over the plate and both are fed through the press by hand under great pressure. The plate is re-inked and subsequent nearly identical prints are taken, forming the edition, the total number of impressions taken before the edition is closed. My etching are each lovingly hand coloured, and no two are ever the same.
